RFID Attendance System

A contactless attendance tracking system built using Arduino microcontrollers, RFID readers, and Google Apps Script for real-time data syncing. The device scanned RFID cards and logged attendance into a Google Sheet instantly — eliminating manual roll calls and improving data accuracy for test environments of over 50 users.

The project was developed as part of an academic initiative and led by me in a 4-person team.

Hardware Integration & Firmware

  • Programmed the microcontroller in C++ for real-time tag recognition

  • Handled debounce, duplicate scan prevention, and signal integrity

  • Designed and wired custom sensor board to handle input-output routing

  • Logged timestamped data into the serial monitor and triggered scripts

Cloud Automation & Use Case Implementation

  • Built a backend in Google Apps Script to receive serial data and push it to a structured spreadsheet

  • Created real-time dashboards for attendance insights and pattern tracking

  • Reduced administrative workload by 75%

  • Demonstrated leadership, scheduling, and project coordination in a hardware-software fusion project
